Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Conducting regular stock counts, cycle counts, and full inventory audits to ensure 100% accuracy between physical stock and system records.
• Receiving, checking, and booking in incoming goods, ensuring all deliveries match purchase orders and are damage-free.
• Picking, packing, and dispatching orders efficiently, adhering to strict deadlines and customer specifications.
• Operating warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software to update stock levels, process orders, and generate reports.
• Investigating and reconciling stock discrepancies, identifying root causes such as picking errors or system issues.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety regulations (e.g., manual handling).
• Liaising with the procurement team, warehouse supervisors, and transport planners to ensure seamless stock flow.
• Managing returns processes, including quarantining damaged goods and processing credits.
• Preparing daily and weekly stock reports for management, highlighting key metrics like stock turnover and shrinkage.
• Assisting in the implementation of new stock control procedures and systems to improve operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements & Skills

• Proven experience in a stock control, inventory, or warehouse operative role, preferably within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail, essential for accurate counting and data entry.
• Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanners, and basic MS Office (Excel).
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude, capable of working collaboratively with colleagues.
• Understanding of health and safety standards within a warehouse setting.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including earlies, lates, and occasional weekends, to meet business needs.
• A valid Counterbalance or Reach Truck licence (FLT) is highly desirable for many roles, though not always essential.
