Core Responsibilities of a Nursery Nurse

• Plan, organise, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework across all seven areas of learning and development.
• Provide high-quality care for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
• Conduct ongoing observations and assessments of children's development, maintaining accurate and detailed records to track progress and inform planning.
• Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, providing daily feedback and contributing to parent meetings and progress reviews.
• Work collaboratively as part of a nursery team, supporting colleagues, sharing best practice, and contributing to the overall positive ethos of the setting.
• Ensure full compliance with all safeguarding policies, health and safety regulations, and Ofsted requirements at all times.
• Support children with additional needs, working in partnership with other professionals such as speech therapists or SENCOs where required.

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

• A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Diploma, NVQ, or equivalent) is essential.
• Proven experience working as a Nursery Nurse, Early Years Practitioner, or in a similar role within a childcare setting.
• In-depth knowledge and practical application of the EYFS framework and current childcare legislation.
• Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain one immediately).
• A clear, enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one through Temping Agency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and staff.
• A genuine passion for early years education and a commitment to providing outstanding care.
