Key Responsibilities & Duties

Preventive & Reactive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled servicing, inspections, and testing on a fleet of diesel generators, UPS systems, and associated switchgear. Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently to minimise downtime.

System Monitoring & Operation: Monitor generator performance through BMS and SCADA systems. Execute safe isolation procedures, perform load bank testing, and ensure all systems are primed for automatic failover during a mains power loss.

Compliance & Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and test results in line with SFG20, LOLER, and PUWER regulations. Ensure full compliance with all airport security and safety protocols.

Emergency Response: Be part of a 24/7 on-call rota to respond to critical power failures or generator faults. Work under pressure to restore power to essential airport services as a matter of priority.

Team Collaboration & Contractor Liaison: Work closely with the in-house M&E team, external contractors, and airport authorities. Provide technical guidance and support for projects involving power system upgrades or installations.
Essential Skills & Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Formal apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Maintenance.
- Proven experience maintaining & repairing diesel generators (e.g., Cummins, Perkins, FG Wilson).
- Strong electrical competency, including 3-phase systems, control panels, and automatic transfer switches.
- Valid UK Driving Licence. Airside pass or the ability to obtain one (we can assist).

The client and Temping Agency will sponsor the right candidate through the mandatory security clearance (CRC) and airside pass application process.
