Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Operating Industrial Machinery: Safely and efficiently operating commercial washing machines, tumble dryers, and ironing/finishing equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
- Textile Sorting & Processing: Sorting incoming linen and workwear by fabric type, colour, and soiling level. Applying correct washing formulas and detergents for optimal cleaning and fabric care.
- Quality Control & Inspection: Conducting thorough inspections of all laundered items for stains, damage, or wear. Removing items that require specialist treatment or repair, ensuring only high-quality linen is returned to circulation.
- Folding, Packing & Distribution: Precisely folding, stacking, and packing cleaned items according to established standards. Preparing orders for collection or assisting with the distribution to various on-site locations.
- Maintenance & Housekeeping: Performing basic maintenance checks on equipment, reporting any faults immediately. Maintaining impeccable cleanliness and organisation in the laundry area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Candidate Requirements & Skills
- Proven Experience: Previous experience as a Laundry Attendant, Laundry Operative, or in a similar role within a hotel, hospital, care home, or commercial laundry facility is highly desirable.
