Temping Agency: Certified Forklift Driver Counterbalance in Coventry

We are looking for skilled operators to power a high-volume depot in the heart of the West Midlands. High pay, consistent hours, and professional growth.
Why Coventry is the New Logistics Capital
If you live in or around the West Midlands, you already know that Coventry sits in the "Golden Triangle" of logistics. With the M6, M40, and M69 all converging nearby, this city is the nerve center for distribution across the United Kingdom. Every day, thousands of tons of cargo move through the depots here, and at the heart of that movement is the Counterbalance Forklift Driver.
At Temping Agency, we have partnered with one of the region’s largest independent distribution centers to find top-tier talent. This isn't just about moving pallets; it's about being the precision engineer of the warehouse floor. If you have a steady hand, an eye for safety, and a valid ticket, we want to talk to you today.
The Coventry depot is a high-volume environment. We aren't talking about a quiet corner shop warehouse; we are talking about hundreds of vehicle movements every single shift. It’s loud, it’s busy, and it requires a level of focus that only a truly certified professional can bring.
Your Day at the Controls
Inbound Unloading
Maneuvering your counterbalance truck into HGV trailers to safely offload incoming stock. Speed is vital, but safety is paramount.
Racking & Storage
Using your mast controls to place pallets into high-level racking systems reaching heights of up to 10 meters.
Stock Audits
Working alongside the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure every pallet is scanned and placed in the correct bay.
Credentials That Count
Safety isn't just a buzzword for us; it’s a lifestyle. To join the Team Temping Agency roster as a forklift driver, you need to have a valid, accredited license. We recognize certifications from:
If your license was issued more than $$3$$ years ago, don't worry—we often facilitate refresher training for dedicated workers. We follow strict HSE Lift Truck Guidelines to ensure that every member of our team is protected while on the job.
You will also be required to pass a practical site assessment at the Coventry depot. This is your time to shine and show off your spatial awareness, your smooth braking, and your mastery of the counterbalance weight dynamics.
More Than Just a Paycheck
At Temping Agency, we know that forklift operators are the backbone of the economy. You deserve a package that reflects that. When you work with us in Coventry, you get:
- 1 Weekly Pay: No more waiting a month for your hard-earned money. We pay every Friday, like clockwork.
- 2 Holiday Accrual: Even as a temp, you earn paid time off. Rest is just as important as work.
- 3 Pension Scheme: We help you plan for the future with our auto-enrolled pension contributions.
- 4 Temp-to-Perm: Most of our Coventry drivers are offered permanent contracts after $$12$$ weeks of excellent service.
The High-Volume Environment

What does "high-volume" actually mean? It means the depot handles over 10,000 units per hour during peak times. As a Counterbalance Driver, you are the conductor of this orchestra. You will be moving between the loading docks and the internal storage bays, often in tight spaces.
The Coventry site is equipped with the latest Linde and Toyota electric trucks, ensuring you have the best tools for the job. We maintain our fleet meticulously because we know that a faulty truck is a dangerous truck. You’ll be responsible for your daily pre-shift checks—checking hydraulics, tires, and battery levels before you turn the key.
Beyond the work, there's a real sense of community. The canteen at the Coventry hub is famous for its Friday breakfast baps, and the team spirit is high. You aren't just a cog in a machine; you're part of the Team Temping family.

Team Temping Agency: FLT FAQ
1. Do I need my own PPE for the Coventry site?
We provide a high-visibility vest and a safety whistle. You will need your own steel-toed boots. If you have any trouble getting these, let us know—we can often provide a voucher for safety gear through our recruitment office.
2. What happens if my FLT license is an in-house certificate?
Unfortunately, for this high-volume depot, we require nationally recognized certifications (RTITB/ITSSAR/NPORS). However, if you have extensive experience, we may be able to put you through a conversion course to get you fully accredited.
3. Are there night shifts available?
Yes! The Coventry depot operates $$24/7$$. Night shifts usually start at $$22:00$$ and come with a $$15\%$$ shift premium, bringing your hourly rate even higher.
4. How far is the depot from Coventry City Centre?
The site is located about $$4$$ miles from the city centre. It is well-served by local bus routes, and there is a massive secure car park for those who drive or cycle.
5. When will I hear back after applying?
At Team Temping Agency, we pride ourselves on speed. A consultant will typically call you within $$24$$ hours of your application to discuss your experience and schedule your assessment.
